Life Art Society is invited to participate in “Hui Chun” Festival at “River Hong Bao”, which will be held from February 8 to February 17, 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm; New Year’s Eve (February 9) at 9:00 pm to 12:15 am) at Gardens by the Bay, Singapore to celebrate the Spring Festival and to usher in the Year of the Dragon!

Professor Tan Kim Ser, President of Life Art Society, will preside over the auspicious dragon awakening ceremony at 7 pm on February 8 (“Auspicious Dragon Welcomes Spring” painting is created by Dr. Daniel Yip). The dragon represents the Chinese’s spirit of self-improvement, perseverance, and enterprising spirit, and has been respected by people for thousands of years. With the auspicious dragon to wish Singapore prosperity, good fortune, good luck and excellent health in the Year of the Dragon, to kick off the “River Hong Bao” large-scale marathon “Hui Chun”. 

“River Hong Bao” is jointly organized by Singapore Federation of Chinese Clan Associations, Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Singapore Press Holdings Chinese Media Group, Singapore Tourism Board and People’s Association. Life Art Society hopes to promote Chinese culture and Art to the public to have better understanding and appreciation of Chinese profound, long-standing and traditional fine art through “Hui Chun” activities, and to add to the lively atmosphere of celebrating Chinese New Year. 

This year Life Art Society Professor Tan will lead 30 artists and calligraphers to participate in this large-scale marathon “Hui Chun” to celebrate Chinese New Year and create New Year painting and write New Year’s greetings for the public.

There will also be a “Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition” at the “Hui Chun” venue for the public viewing. “Hui Chun” will include New Year greetings and paintings. The themes of the New Year paintings created by calligraphers and artists include lotus, plum blossom, orchid, chrysanthemum, cockscomb, peony, bamboo, orange, small carp, goldfish, dragon, and panda, bringing the warm and joy of CNY blessings to the people. Everyone is welcome to visit Life Art Society at Gardens by the Bay for your favourite calligraphy and painting.

更生美术研究会受邀到《春到河畔》举行盛大挥春活动,更生将在 28日至217日,晚上7至9点30分;除夕夜( ‪29)‪晚上9点至凌晨1215)于《春到河畔》新加坡滨海湾花园,举行马拉松接力挥春活动迎接龙年!

更生美术研究会会长陈钦赐教授将于2月8日傍晚7点主持祥龙点睛仪式(<祥龙迎春>是由叶祖辉博士创作的)。龙代表着华人自强不息、百折不挠、奋发向上的精神,几千年来一直受到人们的尊崇。借此祥龙,祝福新加坡龙年鸿福、龙马精神、如意吉祥,为《春到河畔》大型马拉松接力“挥春”掀开序幕。

《春到河畔》是由新加坡宗乡会馆联合总会、新加坡中华总商会、新加坡报业控股华文媒体集团,新加坡旅游局和人民协会联合主办。更生希望通过挥春活动来推广国人对华族,博大精深、渊远流长、优良传统艺术的认识与欣赏,把艺术普及到民间,增添春节的热闹气氛。今年更生挥春团队的阵容强大,会长陈教授将带领30位更生书画家参与这次的大型马拉松接力“挥春”庆新年,为公众作年画和挥春。参与的书画家包括黄诗评、陈维鸣、陈国良博士、楊淑芬、单秋萍、周翠娥博士、蔡美琴、叶祖辉博士、陈雨、龙翠柳、云燕美、莫夏玲、李谨秀、杜枫、吴茂铨院长、梁诚炜 BBM(L)、胡映彤、陈洁英、郑端芳、叶薇薇、Mohan、Raja、陈文冠、林玉梅医生、霍伯祥、李月桂、林美凤、邱宝玲、何明钻、黄澄心(排名不分先后 )。

Tune in to the Lantern Riddles live stream from 8 to 12 February 2024, 8:00pm to 10:00pm (except Chinese New Year eve, from 9:00pm to 11:00pm), via River Hongbao’s official Facebook page – @riverhongbaosg and get rewarded for every hidden secret unraveled.

Solving each riddle rewards the lucky winner with $10 Capitaland shopping e-vouchers.

By taking part in this contest, participants shall be deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by the following terms and conditions. The River Hongbao committee reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions without prior notice.

All personal data collected for the purpose of this contest, including email addresses and personal contact numbers will be used solely for the purpose of contacting prize winners  and issuing of prizes in the form of e-vouchers. Sharing said data does not constitute marketing consent and shall not be used for marketing purposes whatsoever.

All personal data collected will be deleted 30 days after this contest ends.

Eligibility:

This contest is open to all Singapore citizens and permanent residents above the age of 13 with a valid Facebook account. Participants below the age of 13 are required to seek parental or guardian consent. Members of the River Hongbao committee, their immediate families, affiliates, subsidiaries, related agencies and suppliers and/or persons living in the same household will not be eligible to participate in the contest.

Duration of Contest

The contest will run from 8 February 2024, 7:00pm SGT to 12 February 2024, 11.59pm SGT. Entries received outside of this time period will not be eligible to win. The winners will be announced in the comment section of the live stream by 28 February 2024.

Contest Mechanics

To participate in the contest, participants must have a valid Facebook account.

Tune in to solve lantern riddles live from 8 February 2024 to 12 February 2024 and enter your answers in the comment section.

Participants who manages to solve the riddles receives $10 Capitaland shopping e-vouchers. 5 riddles will be shared each day.

How to Participate
1) Tune in to “Lantern Riddles” from 8 February 2024 to 12 February 2024.

2) Solve the riddles during the show and enter your answer in the comment section to qualify

Prizes

Each day over the contest period, five (5) participants who have answered the riddles correctly will receive $10 Capitaland shopping e-vouchers.

Winners will be contacted via Facebook private chat by 28 Feb 2023.

The maximum number of prizes that an eligible winner may win for this contest is ONE (1) prize per person. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and must be collected within one week after the announcement of results. The River Hongbao committee reserves the right to substitute the prizes above with one of a similar value at any point in time. 

The River Hongbao committee and/or its agency may require prize winner to provide proof of identity, proof of age and/or proof of residency as a condition for the claiming of prizes. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the sole discretion of the River Hongbao committee and/or its agency. The prizes will only be awarded to the winner and not to proxies or representatives of the winners.

Other rights:

The River Hongbao committee reserves the right to reject any entries that do not comply with the aforementioned terms and conditions, and disqualify any participant for disrupting the contest or for breaching any of the terms and conditions at any point in time.

The River Hongbao committee’s decision on any matter relating to this contest is final and no considerations or appeals will be entertained. The River Hongbao committee reserves the right to amend the aformentioned terms and conditions at any point in time without prior notice.

If for any reason the contest is unable to be carried out in its entirety as planned, the River Hongbao committee reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the contest or invalidate any affected entries.
