Chinese Remittance Letters
侨批千里报平安
Early Chinese migrants who ventured abroad to earn a living would send remittance letters, made up of letters and money, to their families back in China. This exhibition is a collaboration between the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall (Singapore) and Fujian Provincial Archives of China. Featuring artefacts and interactive elements, this exhibition showcases the broad historical and cultural significance of remittance letters, as well as the emotional, personal stories of early Chinese migrants in Singapore, particularly through Chinese New Year remittance letters from the 20th century.
早期出洋谋生的华人会给中国的家眷寄信和汇款，他们的书信与汇款合称侨批。本次展览由晚晴园—孙中山南洋纪念馆（新加坡）与中国福建省档案馆联合举办，融入互动元素，通过20世纪的侨批，特别是新年侨批，叙述早期新加坡华人移民的情感与生活，展现侨批所承载的重要历史和文化价值。
